What can you use to Protest your Property Value

If you are looking into protesting your property’s value, then you are probably wondering what you can use as evidence in order to lower your value.

Here are some things you can use.

#1. Property Damage

This can be anything from cracks on the ceiling, walls, driveway. Water damage that the house might have from a possible pipe that started leaking, etc. Overall, anything that makes your house less appealing will help lower the value.er.

#2. Estimates/ Repair Invoices

If your property has damage and you had someone come look at it and give you an estimate, so long as the repair was not made in the previous year (Before or on January 1st) that estimate can be used to help lower your value.

#3. Property Comparisons

You can also use the same data that the Appraisal District uses, by looking at the surrounding properties in your area you can use their value as a comparison to your property.

Remember any evidence you are using for your property must be sent on time to the Appraisal District the evidence also must go attached with an Affidavit of Evidence will be sent to you as well as available on the Appraisal District website.
